Another problem that needs to be fixed has emerged on the iPhone 15: Speakers…

Apple recently fixed the overheating issue affecting the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max with the iOS 17.0.3 update. Moreover, in doing this, the A17 Pro did not even need to reduce its performance.

However, there may be another problem that Apple needs to fix: Speaker… Some users have complained on social media about the speaker sounds that occur when playing audio at high levels. A TikTok user announced that he took the iPhone 15 Pro Max to Apple for replacement. The company acknowledged the audio issue and replaced the device twice. But the problem seems to persist.

iPhone 15 owners say they observe this issue when the volume is above 80% and playing audio (including videos and calls). They describe it as a crackling or clicking sound, or a sound like there is water inside the speaker. The problem seems to primarily affect the top speaker.

In a video, TikTok user MilesAboveTech explained that Apple acknowledged the problem and replaced his iPhone 15 Pro Max twice. However, the same speaker problems occurred on all three devices. Moreover, he went to an Apple store to try various iPhone 15 models and found that all four versions suffered from the same audio issues.

It’s unclear how widespread the problem is. Miles is just one of the iPhone 15 buyers who detailed the sound issue online. Additionally, Apple appears to be confirming the problem by replacing defective phones. If crackling sounds bother you, you can take this into consideration. However, new devices seem to come with the same sound problem.

If this is a hardware issue and speaker components are to blame, Apple will likely fix the problem at the production level. This means that future iPhone 15 models will not suffer from the same problem.
