Not a day goes by that we don’t announce a new innovation for WhatsApp. Not long ago, animated heart emojis came to the Android version of the app. According to the news of WABetaInfo, the company is now aiming to bring new and fun features for the chat application. The innovation this time is to offer WhatsApp users the ability to use an avatar during video calls.
Users will also be able to send avatars as stickers in groups or in individual chats. To create your own avatar and use it in various scenarios, you need to go to the “Avatar Editor”. Reportedly, WhatsApp has been developing its own Memoji or Bitmoji app since March, and now we’re seeing some progress in that direction as you can use your avatar during video calls and as stickers.
The screenshot shared by WABetaInfo shows a “Switch to Avatar” button during a video call. However, we need to point out that this feature is under development and not available in beta. In addition, there is no information about the release date of this feature.
It is estimated that WhatsApp will remain in the testing phase for a long time before rolling out this feature to all users on both Android and iOS.
