Starlink, SpaceX’s satellite internet service, started to place satellites in orbit in 2020. The company, which has increased the number of satellites and expanded its area of use since then, continues to grow at a rapid pace.
Starlink managed to reach 1 million users
As it is known, SpaceX, of which Elon Musk is the CEO, offers mobile internet service to homes and workplaces as well as to vehicles, planes and ships on the move. Increasing its usage areas day by day, Starlink has left another important stage behind.
SpaceX, in a post on Twitter, announced that Starlink satellite internet service has surpassed 1 million subscribers. Thanking all its subscribers and employees for this success, the company aims to further increase the number of users in the future.
Starlink, which set out with the goal of offering internet all over the world, managed to reach a very significant number of users in about 2 years. The company, which has 775 satellites in orbit, will increase this number significantly in the near future. Starlink has received permission from the US Federal Communications Commission for 7,500 new satellites.
Starlink, which will significantly increase its coverage area with 7 thousand 500 satellites to be sent into space, is already being discussed with the satellites it puts into orbit. According to a report shared on April 30, 2022, there are 5,465 active satellites in Earth orbit. With Starlink’s new satellites, this figure will more than double.
Considering other satellites that have completed their mission and become inactive, it is also said that the world may be in great danger. Scientists say that an accident between satellites can have very bad consequences.
In the shadow of all these discussions, Starlink continues to grow. So what do you think about Starlink, SpaceX’s satellite internet service? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
