Good news continues to come from the God of War front, which has been presented to PC players in the past days and has almost turned Steam upside down even a week after its release. The game’s Creative Editor Cory Barlog and Technical Production Senior Manager Matt DeWald also signaled that they will make PC gamers happier in the near future in a new interview.
Official mod support for God of War is coming!
As you know, although they are faced with a production of the latest generation and graphics, the first thing that comes to mind, especially for hardcore players, is whether they can extend the life of the game with new modes and content. It was previously announced that there will be no PC-specific DLC or additional story for God of War.
In this sense, it was eagerly awaited whether Sony and Santa Monica would support the game with any mods. In an interview, DeWald and Cory Barlog said that they want to bring mod support to the game in the near future and that they are excited to see what players can change and improve in the God of War universe. In fact, Barlog took this statement one step further and said that he preferred to play almost all games on PC with mods.
Although it was never a game as famous as God of War, with Horizon Zero Down being open to modding, dozens of innovations and content were brought to the game in NexusMods. As you may remember, a curious PS4 player asked, “What would a young Kratos look like in God of War?” He tried to find an answer to the question and designed a mode like in the video you can watch above.
In this sense, considering that God of War has a structure that is very suitable for modding, just like The Witcher 3, the game may become more fun than ever before with new characters, new inventory system, new weapons, brand new Atreus and Kratos skins and clothes.
