Google hasn’t been able to have a messaging app that has made its way into the market as it has continued to roll out various apps over the years, then change them and eventually shut them down. On the other hand, the famous company has been working on Google Chat for a while and seems to hold on to this application for a long time.
Continuing to add new features to the application in recent months, Google has now brought an update on the display of deleted messages to the other party.
Google Chat update officially announced
In a statement made via the official Workspace blog, Google announced that now when users delete a message sent by the other party through Google Chat, a notification will be sent to the other party.
With this new feature, users will be able to see why when there is a gap in the chat. Under normal circumstances, the other party was not informed in any way when a user sent a message and deleted it. After this update, there will be an expression in the box with the deleted messages as ‘Message was deleted by the sender’.
In any chat window in Google Chat, when you delete a message, the reply messages about it will also be deleted. However, the original message you quoted from the other party will remain in the window even if you delete your reply. In this sense, if you do not want to delete your message, the option to edit messages in Google Chat still remains. There is no time limit for this.
Earthquake warning system meeting from AFAD and Google!
In this sense, we should point out that none of these features are yet in use for users who experience Goolge Chat in their personal accounts. Google keeps these features exclusive to work or school accounts for now, and hasn’t yet specified when it will come to personal accounts.
