Meta recently made another statement that clarifies that we can withdraw from Europe. Stating that “it definitely does not want to withdraw from Europe”, the company has thus clarified its position.

In its new statement, the company says it “does not threaten” with pulling Facebook and Instagram out of European countries due to the uncertainty surrounding the transatlantic confidentiality agreement between the United States and the European Union. But he adds that the problem needs to be resolved.

Meta published a blog post that bluntly denied that it was threatening to shut down access to major web features like Facebook and Instagram in the European Union. The firm said it “identifies a business risk arising from uncertainty around international data transfers.” As Meta says: “International data transfers underpin the global economy and support many services that are essential to our daily lives. Businesses in diverse industries need clear, global rules to protect transatlantic data flows over the long term.”

Meta seems to have had to clarify its stance on maintaining its presence in European countries due to the company’s statement in its latest earnings report. In its first statement that caused confusion, the company said that if the US and the European Union do not approve a new data transfer agreement, the company “may not be able to offer some of our most important products and services in Europe, including Facebook and Instagram.”

Meta had issued similar warnings when it was known as Facebook before changing its name. However, the company did not name any service in these warnings. This time, his mention of Facebook and Instagram was considered as a detail showing the seriousness of the business.
