Automobile prices are increasing day by day. Of course, although most of the new prices we encounter are due to the exchange rate difference, manufacturers are dealing with two global crises at once. The first of these is the chip crisis, which everyone knows now. But the unknown and more dangerous is the cable crisis.

Cable crisis triggered production and supply problems again!

In the article, the link of which is left below, we explained why all technological devices, especially phones, will experience a price increase in the coming period. But compared to other electronics, a new problem has emerged in cars, known as a cable crisis.

There is a cable infrastructure in the cars we use, which provides both the internal communication of the vehicle and the operation of technologies that appeal to the user such as window control. Moreover, there is a cable usage of approximately 5 kilometers per vehicle.

According to Emre Özpeynirci, especially German brands are in a crisis right now. In fact, there is a production loss of 30 to 40 percent. The biggest reason for this is that Ukraine, the main supplier, cannot supply products due to the war with Russia. For this reason, it is said that for now, goods are bought from Mexico and cable production will shift to countries such as Morocco, Tunisia, Poland, Serbia and Romania.

Of course, since everything is managed through the middle screen in new generation vehicles like Tesla, the cable usage rate is significantly less in this type of automobile. For this reason, the automotive industry is generally heading in this direction.

But we won’t be seeing this change anytime soon. In the aforementioned countries, the production line will be established and the sufficient amount of goods will be provided in the next year at the earliest. Also, the chip crisis will not end anytime soon. Therefore, we may have difficulty in finding the full packages of the vehicles. In fact, we may start to have stock problems in all models directly. This will be reflected in the prices as a new hike.
