Apple may launch a new product in October, as Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported in the newly released Power On newsletter. Gurman predicts that the new Macs will likely be the focus of the post-iPhone 15 launch, and hints that the M3-powered iMac could be among them. Gurman previously wrote that Apple plans to launch an M3 powered iMac later this year.

Gurman seems to be quite convinced of this prediction, and it can be safely said that the timing he suggested seems correct. The last time we saw a new iMac, we came across when Apple released its color redesign more than two years ago.

However, that doesn’t mean we’ll see any changes to the device’s format once again. Gurman wrote in Power On published last week that we won’t see larger, potentially up to 32-inch iMacs until late 2024. So this new product release may be a refreshed version of the currently available 24-inch model, but it’s also possible to say that it’s not a bad thing.

Also, Gurman thinks we’ll see updates on Apple’s 13-inch MacBooks (MacBook Air and MacBook pro) that take advantage of the M3’s capabilities, but he’s not talking about the iPad when he says a possible M3 version of the iPad Pro with an OLED display will appear next year. It’s worth noting, though, that a faster iPad Air model is in development. This new product will put Apple’s mid-range iPad back in the annual lineup, following the launch of the M1-powered iPad Air in 2022, skipping the 2021 refresh.

Gurman has previously said that new M3 Macs (at least the iMac and 13-inch MacBook Air) could appear this year or next, and could be the first to use the rumored new 3nm Apple Silicon chips. Well-connected supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said earlier this year that new M3 Pro / Max chips are expected in the first half of 2024.

With the end of the year fast approaching, we won’t have to wait too long to see if these rumors are true.
