The Automotive Distributors Association (ODD) announced the automotive sales data for September. The data released reveal that automotive sales came to a near standstill in September. Although 57 thousand 141 automotive sales were made during the last month, when we compare this data with September of last year, we see a 36.9 percent contraction.
According to ODD data, 43 thousand 408 automobiles were sold in September. This amount of sales means that there was a 39.1 percent decline on an annual basis. The sales of 13 thousand 733 light commercial vehicles correspond to a 28.9 percent decrease compared to the same period of the previous year. The data announced are an indication that there is a decline in the automotive markets that exceeds even expectations.
