Offering three new security features to its users the other day, WhatsApp continues to work on its user experience innovations. The company will finally have animated emojis that have been in our lives for a long time, some loved and some hated.
Moreover, animated emoji will be the default option for selected emojis. Even if you don’t want to see these emojis, you will see them, you will not be able to disable them. Emojis will be from the library of Lottie, the popular animation platform used by websites and applications.

There is no information yet on when animated emojis will be available. The feature, which is still under development, has not been released in Beta versions of WhatsApp’s Android, iOS or desktop versions. The feature is expected to be released in beta in the desktop version soon.
Animated emojis have been used for a long time in Telegram, the biggest competitor of WhatsApp today. On the other hand, Facebook Messenger, another messaging application of Meta, also hosts animated emojis.
