Not a day goes by without news of a new malware invasion from the Android front. Despite the security improvements Google has made in the app store, attackers continue to circumvent them in different ways.
Beware of Android malware
According to the statement made by Bitdefender, 35 applications containing malware have been detected in the Google Play store and the number of downloads has exceeded 2 million. These applications engage in activities such as displaying fraudulent advertisements and installing other pieces of software.

The interesting thing is that after the application is installed, it changes its name and icon to Settings. Thus, it becomes difficult for the user to find it. The researchers detected such a situation, suspecting that there were no comments on the original application’s page.
Another interesting method is to hide apps from the favorites tab. Although it is constantly running in the background, it can hide itself when the user opens the frequently used applications tab. Google removed the apps from the store after the report. All apps listed below that appear to be different Settings app are requested to be deleted immediately:
