A new Google support page shows an upcoming update to Android Auto. The update will now allow Android Auto to check if the USB cable or port is working properly.
Android Auto will report broken USB cable
First noticed by one of the XDA Developers editors, Mishaal Rahman, the Google support page states that the Android Auto application will now check the operation of the USB cable connected to the vehicle, thus allowing users to have a connection problem. It shows that it will help them understand where the problem comes from when they experience it.
The support page also states that a cable shorter than 1 meter should be used for the best connection and users should not use USB hubs or cable extensions.
Google Domains removed from beta after 7 years
Rahman says the new feature is available in Android Auto 7.5.121104. The feature will be accessible via the ‘Connection help’ tab in Android Auto settings.
