Android 13 features are expected to be officially announced, shortly before the Google I/O 2022 event, another innovation that will come with the operating system has emerged. The latest information shows that an important step will be taken to protect eye health with Android 13.
As it is known, ‘bedtime mode’ has been used in Android phones for years. Before going to bed, it can disable Always on Display (AOD) for you and enable the ‘Do Not Disturb’ feature so that your sleep is not interrupted. Google will further improve the bedtime mode in the latest version of Android.
Android 13 will automatically dim the wallpaper
In the code strings detected in the last update of the Google Play Store, it was revealed that the wallpaper will automatically turn dark when the bedtime mode is turned on with Android 13. In the sample photos below, you can see darkened wallpapers ranging from 0 percent (off at bedtime) to 100 percent (on at bedtime).
However, it is not yet known whether Android 13 will completely or partially fade the wallpaper. Of course, at this point, Google may allow the user to adjust the degree of dimming, as well as offer certain presets.
Important steps are also taken in security
Google will also take important steps in privacy and security with Android 13. It turned out that third-party applications installed by sideloading will be restricted from accessing Android 13’s accessibility features.
According to screenshots from Android 13 Beta 1, the app’s info screen will have an “Allow restricted settings” option. Applications installed from the APK file will not be able to use screen reading and similar accessibility services unless this option is enabled. It is also worth noting that sideloading will not be completely blocked.
