South Korea-based technology giant Samsung announced the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update at the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) 2022 event held today. At the event, Samsung said that Android 13-based One UI 5.0 will offer more personalized experiences with specially created Modes and Routines. However, users will now get a new Dynamic Lock screen that displays multiple images on phones, Galaxy Watch and other One UI 5.0 devices.
The South Korean giant is also revamping its notifications panel, with larger app icons and increased spacing between the two notifications. In addition, the changes made in the interface are not limited to this. One UI 5.0 further improves the Smart Widget support that came with One UI 4.0.
For stacked Widgets, users simply drag and drop a new widget onto an existing widget.
Multitasking option is now more functional
Samsung also introduced the Smart Wi-Fi feature with One UI 5.0. The new feature will provide users with in-depth information about the wireless networks around them.
One UI 5.0 comes with more multitasking options on the top or bottom half of the screen with drag and drop capability.
The new Android 13-based update aims to take the user experience to the next level with increased performance and security, as well as renewed animations, language change in the application independent of the operating system, and customizable notification options for applications.
According to the official statement, Android 13-based One UI 5.0 will be shared for Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 + and Galaxy S22 Ultra models until the end of October. Although an official update schedule has not been shared by the technology giant at the moment, One UI 5.0 is expected to be offered to other Samsung devices in the coming period.
