Google does not openly share the usage rates of Android versions. We learn how much the current Android versions are adopted from the updates it makes in Android Studio. According to the update dated August 4, 2022, Android 12 is currently installed on only 13% of devices. Since 2020, the majority of Android devices come with Android 11 installed.

The most popular Android version has not changed
When we look at the data published in May, we see that the Android 12 usage rate has doubled. Android 11 usage rate also rose to 27% and remains the most used version of Android today. The most popular Android version is followed by Android 10 with 22.3%. Android 9 Pie is ahead of Android 12 with 14.5% usage rate despite 4 years after its announcement. Google did not share Android 13 data.
