The company has most recently established a new unit, a16z Crypto Research, to tackle the research challenges facing the rapidly growing crypto-asset industry. The unit will be led by Tim Roughgarden, a professor at both Stanford and Columbia and a prominent academic expert in game theory.
The unit aims to identify and address key research issues crypto faces in mainstream adoption.
