Instagram fined 405 million euros
It is related to “Insufficient data validation” in the Mojo interprocess communication (IPC) library used by the open Chromium engine identified as CVE-2022-3075. The incident was recorded as the sixth zero-day vulnerability in Chrome since the beginning of 2022.
An anonymous security researcher discovered
Google reported that the issue was discovered by a researcher who wanted to remain anonymous. The company isn’t sharing any information or technical details about attacks on newly found bugs. This way, the search giant aims to give users more time to install patches before other attackers learn the details of the vulnerability and launch their own attacks.
Other zero-day vulnerabilities fixed in the Chrome browser this year can be listed as CVE-2022-0609, CVE-2022-1096, CVE-2022-1364, CVE-2022-2294 and CVE-2022-2856.
