Last January, Microsoft announced that it would buy popular game publisher Activision Blizzard for a massive $68.7 billion investment. The agreement, which is currently being reviewed by the regulatory authorities of various countries, may have faced a new obstacle after Sony, Google and Nvidia.

European Commission worried about deal

According to sources close to the subject, the European Commission is preparing to object to the Activision Blizzard agreement, similar to the FTC (US Federal Trade Commission). It is reported that Microsoft is in talks with the commission to address these concerns, and the final decision will be announced on April 11.

If we recall, the software giant announced that it signed a 10-year deal with Nintendo and Valve for Call of Duty games in the face of the FTC’s concerns. Therefore, Microsoft can make similar concessions for the European Commission.

As it is known, Sony is worried that, among other games, Call of Duty will be made exclusive to Xbox and PlayStation users will not be able to access the popular production. In addition to the regulators and Sony recently, Nvidia and Google were added to the names that objected to the agreement. The two companies feel that the Activision Blizzard acquisition will provide an unfair advantage.
