The Competition Authority, which opened an investigation into technology companies in various sectors this week, has now announced that it has launched an investigation into the electric scooter startup Martı. The announcement was made on the website of the institution.
According to the statement made by the Competition Authority, it was decided to investigate due to the alleged violation of Articles 4 and 6 of the Law on the Protection of Competition No. 4054. Martı’s exclusionary practices and agreements, actions and decisions limiting competition will be examined.

The Competition Authority’s statement is as follows:
“The preliminary investigation on the allegation that Martı Ileri Teknoloji AŞ has a dominant position in the relevant product market and violates the 4th and 6th articles of the Law on the Protection of Competition No. 4054 by abusing its dominant position with its exclusionary actions on its competitors has been concluded by the Competition Board.
Discussing the information, documents and findings obtained in the preliminary research at its meeting dated 21.07.2022, the Competition Board found the findings serious and sufficient; In order to determine whether it violates Articles 4 and 6 of the Law on the Protection of Competition No. 4054; Martı Advanced Technology Inc. decided to open an investigation against him with the number 22-33/527-M.”
