Snapchat’s Stories, which inspired all social media platforms, were also ‘borrowed’ to the last degree by Meta (formerly Facebook). While there are Stories on all platforms under the umbrella of Meta today, an important news has come for the stories called ‘Status’ in WhatsApp today.
Until now, when you included a link in your WhatsApp status, users viewing your status were only greeted with a plain text and a small preview at the bottom. But the detail that WABetaInfo encountered in the new WhatsApp beta version showed that the link in WhatsApp statuses will now have a large and visible preview.
Big preview window is coming to links in statuses:
With the new feature added to WhatsApp, when you add a link to your status, this link will have a large preview window with the text. This window will contain the main image of your link, the meta description of the link address, the URL and the title of the address.
It is unknown when the new feature will be released for all users. However, it is known that the feature is currently in A/B testing. So if you want to access the feature in advance, you need to sign up for WhatsApp’s beta program. The feature is expected to be released for all users soon.
