An Australian company announced that it has completed the development of an application that detects Covid-19. We have encountered similar applications in the past period. But none of them could go beyond a recommendation (apply to a health institution). However, this time the developers support their claims with the data they provide.
How does the application that detects Covid-19 work?
According to the reports, the application called ResApp, made by Australian developers, achieved a positive result in 92 percent of the cases, achieving a success that its competitors could not imagine. It can also detect infections with Omicron and Delta variants.
In preliminary testing at home, at Covid testing centers and hospitals, subjects tested using ResApp showed positive and negative rates with similar accuracy as the results of rapid antigen testing. A spokesperson for the developer company said that the accuracy of the results presented by the application surpasses the results obtained from the rapid antigen test that patients do at home.
The complex working logic of the application on the software side is actually quite simple when it comes to the user side. When users talk or cough, ResApp analyzes sounds with certain algorithms. As a result, it can detect and distinguish people with sleep apnea, shortness of breath and, with the latest developments, Covid-19 patients.
When the development process of the application is completed, it will be available worldwide. However, it is expected to work in integration with health institutions only in some pilot countries. However, if you wish, you can have more ideas by watching the video shared by ResApp on how the application works, via the link below.
