Introduced by Samsung in the past weeks, the Galaxy S23 series managed to make a sound with both its camera design and rich features. However, we recently told you that complaints about the primary camera performance and Space Zoom feature of smartphones are starting to increase.

Now, before these discussions stopped, there was another annoying development about smartphones. Numerous users have started reporting animation issues with third-party apps.

Annoying problem in Galaxy S23 series

According to posts on Reddit and Samsung community forums, Galaxy S23 users say that animations flicker when navigating third-party apps such as Reddit, WhatsApp, Twitter and YouTube. Reports indicate that the new issue is not yet widespread and only certain users are affected. However, the problem may not be limited to third-party apps, as some complaints also involve the Galaxy Store.

Reportedly, Samsung is reducing the screen refresh rate below 60Hz in the Galaxy Store. This may explain the problem. As a matter of fact, Galaxy S23 Ultra supports adaptive refresh rate between 1Hz – 120Hz, Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus between 48Hz – 120Hz. However, some users say that steps such as restarting the phone, clearing the cache, disabling RAM Plus or switching to 60Hz refresh rate eliminate the problem.

Samsung has not yet confirmed the animation problem in the Galaxy S23 series. However, we think that the brand will share a new software update shortly. In the meantime, if you are experiencing this problem on your device, you can try some of the suggested solutions or ask Samsung support for help.
