The American Cancer Society (ACS), a voluntary healthcare organization focused on eliminating cancer, has announced that Dogecoin (DOGE) is one of the most donated cryptocurrencies.
The most popular meme token accounts for 4% of all donations received by ACS. The association has been accepting Dogecoin donations since May 2021.
The organization is working with The Giving Block, a cryptocurrency donation solution for crypto donations.
ACS launched a campaign last year to raise $1 million to advance cancer research. The goal was achieved earlier this year. Crypto donations also occupied an important place, according to the organization.
The voluntary health organization was founded in 1913 in New York by doctors and businessmen.
Meme tokens have also become popular among charities after the bull rally in 2021. Susan G. Komen, the world’s largest breast cancer charity, began accepting donations with Dogecoin and Shiba Inu (SHIB) in late December.
