Advanced Micro Devices(AMD) announced that they are approaching the acquisition of FPGA manufacturer Xilinx. The company announced that regulatory approvals have been completed and the $35 billion acquisition could take place by February 14.

Officially announced in October 2020, the deal is finally nearing completion, with AMD’s latest announcement. The company announced that it has received approval from all necessary authorities and that all conditions have been met.
With AMD nearing the end of its acquisition process, Xilinx manufactures programmable semiconductors, including FPGAs (field programmable gate arrays) and ASICs (application-specific integrated circuit).
