AMD shows a confirmation button to users who overclock, stating that the processor will be out of warranty. Some users have reported that their Ryzen processors are self-overclocking. As a result of the study, it was determined that Radeon graphics cards were also affected by this problem.
Some AMD users have stated that the issue occurred with the BIOS settings changing on their own. Contacting Tom’s Hardware, an AMD representative explained that a bug in the graphics drivers forced Ryzen processors to overclock without warning or permission.
AMD hasn’t fixed the Ryzen overclocking issue yet
AMD recently released version 22.4.1 of the Adrenaline software. The new version includes titles such as bug improvements and Unreal Engine 5.0 support. Among the explanations in the list, which has not yet been resolved, “Ryzen CPU Overclocking settings may change after resetting or importing a profile from Radeon Performance Tuning Options.” expression stands out.
AMD added the Ryzen Master module last year, which allows users to overclock their processors and graphics cards from the same interface. Examining the module added to the adrenaline graphics drivers, the authorities announced that no problems were detected in the module.
Uncontrolled overclocking can cause problems such as overheating and unstable system operation. When the voltage balance cannot be adjusted, the probability of users getting a Blue Screen error in the Windows operating system increases considerably.
AMD announced that they are investigating the issue and a new patch will be released as soon as possible. AMD users, on the other hand, have created their own workarounds to the problem by using Radeon Software Slimmer to delete Ryzen Master from the Adrenaline graphics driver.
