With the introduction of USB 4.0 into our lives, many large companies are on the way to adopt this technology. AMD, one of the world’s largest processor and graphics card manufacturers, is one of these companies. It has been learned that AMD’s CEO, Lisa Su, made a series of visits to Taiwan last week in line with this goal.

AMD is looking to add USB 4.0 support to AM5 desktop platforms by visiting other technology companies in Taiwan. Among the information received is ASMedia, the first company that Lisa Su visited in this regard. ASMedia, a Taiwanese integrated circuit design company owned by Asus, stands out as one of the leading brands in USB4 technology.

Previous leaks also showed that these two companies were already willing to work together on a separate project. It has been claimed many times before that the two technology companies are aiming to partner in different areas, including support for Thunderbolt 4 on next-generation AMD platforms.

This last trip to Taiwan is believed to be specific to USB 4.0 technology. This surprise visit shows that AM5 motherboards with USB4 connectivity may launch next year, along with the new “Zen 5” Ryzen 8000 processors. Motherboards based on the current generation A620, B650 and X670 chipsets can also be upgraded with the latest USB connectivity standard.

With the proliferation of USB 4.0 technology day by day, companies want to adopt this new system in a short time. So what do you guys think about AMD and possible new AM5 motherboards with USB4 support? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
