Ryzen AI support expands
If we recall, AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su emphasized that the number one strategic priority of the company will be artificial intelligence. In an interview with PCWorld, David McAfee, AMD’s customer channel business manager, stated that “Ryzen AI is just the beginning of AMD’s AI initiatives.”
For those who don’t know, the first chips to take advantage of Ryzen AI were the Ryzen 7040 “Phoenix” mobile processors. At this point, it should be noted that not all Phoenix chips have a special artificial intelligence engine. But there’s a good reason why AMD made this choice. These Xilinx IP-based chips can improve the experience in software and operating systems such as Windows 11, with better efficiency and hardware utilization.
In the light of this information, we can say that if AMD overcomes the value & cost barrier, it will showcase processors with Ryzen AI. As a matter of fact, a recent rumor claimed that AMD is working on the next generation of EPYC CPUs that will contain a special artificial intelligence chip. However, let’s say that we have to wait a little longer for all this.
