As it will be recalled, the Ryzen 9800x3D processors reported two different combustion events at the end of last year. Now a third case has been experienced. In the last event, both the processor and the socket on the motherboard seem to have damaged. Interestingly, the computer was not under any heavy load during the event; Only TV series was watching.

The Reddit user at the center of the event is a computer enthusiast with 20 -year PC installation experience. About 20 days ago, the Ryzen 9800x3D processor and the Asrock X870 motherboard collected a new system. Without overclocking, the system working in stock settings seemed smooth. However, it suddenly closed without any symptoms. When he opened and checked the computer, he noticed that the processor and motherboard were seriously burned.

Even more interestingly, he carefully installed the T0Pli system, installed the processor correctly and even upgraded BIOS to the most up -to -date version. It only activated AMD’s EXPO memory profiles, but this is not a setting that will lead to overheating of the processor.

In November, the processor made a short circuit due to incorrect assembly. However, in the case of T0PLI, an open user error does not appear, which increases the mystery of the event.

For now, an official statement has not come from AMD. On the other hand, this processor of AMD is a very popular model that has signed voluminous sales. Therefore, the three events, at least for now, seem to be individual events. However, the causes of such combustion problems may be different. A small piece/material that was overlooked during assembly has fallen into the socket area, which may have caused a short circuit. Another possible reason is that a few of the pins in the AM5 socket may bend during installation. This can also cause a short circuit. Of course, these have not only explained that the estimate and the system died in a sudden while working smoothly for 20 days.
