AMD has already brought the Ryzen 9 7900X and Ryzen 7 7700X processors to the shelves. While these models appeal to the upper class, users are also waiting for the more affordable X-less processors. In this context, the first approval of the Ryzen 9 7900 and Ryzen 7 7700 processors seems to have come from Lenovo.

Ryzen 9 7900 and Ryzen 7 7700 confirmed

So far, AMD has only released the X-series variants of the Ryzen 7000 family. These are Ryzen 9 7900X, Ryzen 7 7700X and Ryzen 5 7600X respectively. However, the company will soon launch its variants without X. The differences between the standard processor and the X version are that they are 65W TDP and have lower clock speeds.

The specifications appearing on Lenovo’s site also confirm this information. The Ryzen 9 7900 and Ryzen 7 7700 processors verified by Lenovo have the same core count as the X variants.

AMD Ryzen 9 7900 will have 12 cores, 24 threads and 76MB cache (64MB L3 + 12MB L3) and is clocked up to 5.4GHz. The base frequency will be 3.6 GHz. The Ryzen 7 7700 will have 8 cores, 16 threads, 40 MB cache (32 MB L3 + 8 MB L3). The maximum clock speed of the processor is 5.3 GHz and the base frequency is 3.6 GHz. Standard non-X Ryzen 7000 processors are expected to be announced at CES 2023. Towards the middle of 2023, we will see the release of affordable AM5 socket A620 motherboards.
