AMD officially announced the Ryzen 8000 series processors, codenamed Hawk Point. Ryzen 8000 processors announced at AMD’s Advanced AI event are updated versions of the Ryzen 7000 series. Let’s look at the features of mobile processors developed for the laptop segment.The Ryzen 8000 APU family comes with Zen 4 cores and RDNA 3 graphics cores like the previous series. Among the APUs that come in three segments, Ryzen 8045HS processors, which are the upper segment, have the highest clock speed. AMD Ryzen 8045HS series
The first two processors of the series, consisting of Ryzen 9 8945HS, Ryzen 7 8845HS and Ryzen 5 8645HS APUs, have 8 cores and a Radeon 780M graphics processor. The last one comes with 6 cores and Radeon 760M graphics processor. Processors with a clock speed of up to 5.2 GHz and 16 MB L3 cache have a TDP value of 35-54 Watts.
AMD Ryzen 8040HS series
In the series consisting of Ryzen 7 8840HS and Ryzen 5 8640HS processors, we again see the 8/6 core and Radeon 780M/760M configuration. Processors with slightly reduced clock speeds come with a TDP value of 20-30 Watts.
AMD Ryzen 8040U series
Two of the 4 processors with low power consumption, 8540U and 8440U, do not have a neural processing unit. These two processors are hybrid processors with Zen 4 and Zen 4c cores. At the same time, the graphics cores appear as the trimmed Radeon 740M, unlike the others.
Zen 4c cores are more dense and economical cores with a smaller membrane area.
