The new generation Ryzen 7000 processors based on AMD’s Zen 4 architecture have been on the market for a while. In addition to these high-end processors in the X series, AMD will introduce the Ryzen 9 7900, Ryzen 7 7700 and Ryzen 5 7600 basic models within the scope of CES 2023. The new information that has emerged points to the performance of these processors.

Ryzen 7900, 7700 and 7600 processors, which are not included in AMD’s X series, are expected to be released on January 10, 2023. You can find detailed features and price information of these processors in our news just below.

While the processors, which will all have 65W TDP, do not make any difference in terms of the number of cores, they lag behind the members of the X series in terms of frequency speed. Therefore, the decrease in frequency rate also affects the performance side.

Ryzen 9 7900 is on par with Core i9-12900KS

On the performance side, the stock AMD Ryzen 9 7900 processor scores 2012 points in single-core and 18607 points in multi-core tests in the synthetic performance test tool Geekbench. The overclocked results of the same test provide a performance increase of 5 percent. The AMD Ryzen 9 7900 is also on par with Intel’s Core i9-12900KS in the Geekbench 5 benchmark.

The AMD Ryzen 7 7700 scores 2062 points in single-core and 12685 points in multi-core tests. Finally, we have the Ryzen 5 7600, which scored 2012 in single-core tests and 11326 in multi-core tests.

Based on these values, Ryzen 9 7900 seems to offer 97 percent of the Ryzen 9 7900X, Ryzen 7 7700, 92 percent of the Ryzen 7 7700X’s performance, and Ryzen 5 7600, 98 percent of the Ryzen 5 7600X’s performance. So these values are definitely very attractive, and the leak also confirms that these processors are suitable for overclocking. So these basic processors can reach a performance close to high-end family members after overclocking with good cooling.

As is known, AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series processor family is compatible with the new AM5 motherboards. While users may find AM5 motherboards expensive for now, it could make the upcoming Ryzen 9 7900, Ryzen 7 7700 and Ryzen 5 7600 transition more appealing. Whether all these values are correct will be revealed at CES 2023. On the other hand, it should be noted that AM5 motherboards with the A620 chipset, which will be more affordable, are also expected to be released in mid-2023.
