AMD has officially introduced its Ryzen 7000 processors at Computex 2022. Processors built on the new Zen 4 architecture stand out with their speed. AMD is quite ambitious about the speed of the processors, which are expected to be available this fall.

AMD Ryzen 7000 is 31 percent faster than Intel!

AMD stated that the new Ryzen 7000 runs up to 31 percent faster than Intel’s top processors in certain applications. Ryzen 7000, the first desktop processor with a core produced with 5 nanometer technology, is of great importance for the company in this sense.

Ryzen 7000 will feature two 5nm Zen 4 cores as well as redesigned 6nm I/O cores. AMD CEO Lisa Su stated that the Ryzen 7000 will offer speeds of over 5GHz. In the tests, it was emphasized that the new 7000 series is 15 percent faster than the Ryzen 5950X. Also, Ryzen 7000 CPUs come with twice the amount of L2 cache than Ryzen 5000.

The reason why AMD continues to use 16 cores in its new processor is to make room for a dual-tasking special I/O core. This core will first host RDNA 2 graphics on Ryzen 7000 processors. Eventually AMD’s Ryzen series will offer integrated graphics. AMD aims to deliver enhanced gaming performance based on the integrated RDNA 2 performance in Ryzen 6000 mobile CPUs.

I/O will also provide a range of connectivity options for the new AM5 platform. We’ve known for a while that AMD is retiring the AM4 platform that debuted with the first generation Ryzen, with the Ryzen 7000 making its AM5 debut. AM5 motherboards support 24 PCIe 5.0 lanes, up to 14 USB ports at 20 Gbps, and four independent display outputs (HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 2), all enabled by the I/O die.

AM5 will also support DDR5 to compete with Intel’s Alder Lake platform. However, AM5 motherboards will only use DDR5. Intel Alder Lake offers both DDR4 and DDR5 support.

This new system also means a new chipset. AMD has some things to say on that front as well. In addition to the X670 and B650 chipsets, the company is launching the new X670E chipset. AMD says this chip is designed for overclocking scenarios. The new set will also have PCIe 5.0 support in all storage and graphics slots.

The cheaper X670 and B650 options still support overclocking, but limit PCIe 5.0 access. The X670 supports at least one PCIe 5.0 NVMe slot as well as optional PCIe 5.0 graphics, while the B650 does not offer PCIe 5.0 graphics options.

We hope to learn more about AMD Ryzen 7000 features coming this fall in the future. In the coming months, the detailed features, price and release date of the new processor will become clear. So what do you think about the new Ryzen 7000 Series processors? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
