Ryzen 7 9800X3D is an 8-core and 16-thread processor using the Zen 5 architecture. The processor, which leaves its competitors behind by offering a total cache capacity of 104 MB, promises a big leap especially in gaming performance. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor operates with a base speed of 4.7 GHz and a turbo speed of up to 5.2 GHz. In addition to the 32 MB L3 cache, another 64 MB is added to the system with 3D V-Cache technology. In this way, the total amount of L3 cache increases to 96 MB. When we include L1 and L2 cache, the total cache becomes 104 MB.
Ryzen 7 9800X3D has a CCD die in addition to the calculation and I/O unit. While the CCD brings 32 MB L3 cache on its own, a 64 MB 3D cache chip has been added under the CCD. AMD calls this 2nd Generation 3D V-Cache technology. Because in previous processors, AMD placed this memory at the top of the CCD die. This caused thermal limitations. With the 3D V-Cache under the die, AMD greatly overcomes thermal limitations.
