READING NOW AMD Ryzen 7 7700X vs. Core i7 13700K! Here are the game performance tests
The Ryzen 7700X, which is in AMD’s Ryzen 7000 processor family, has been compared to the Core i7 13700K model, one of Intel’s 13th generation processors. Among the leaked processors in gaming performance tests, the Ryzen 7700X managed to attract attention with its powerful performance. On the Intel side, the Core i7 13700K and Core i5 13600K were sometimes very close, and in some cases managed to be ahead.

Test information for Intel’s 13th generation Raptor Lake Core i7 13700K and Core i5 13600K processors comes from Extreme Player. The leaker previously shared information on the Raptor Lake family, including Core i9 13900K, Core i7 13700K and Core i5 13600K processors. This time, the Ryzen 7700X was brought up against both Intel’s old 12th Gen processors and 13th Gen processors.

Faster memory boosts the performance of Ryzen processors again

On the test platform side, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX for AMD and ASRock Z690 Steel Legend WiFi 6E/D5 platforms were used for Intel. Both motherboards have 16 GB DDR5 memory and MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Gaming X Trio graphics card. During the testing period, all processors were tested in DDR5-5200 profiles, but in addition to these, the 7700X processor was also tested in the DDR5-6400 speed profile.

The first gaming benchmark we have is Horizon Zero Dawn, where the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X is 4.5 percent ahead of the Core i7 13700K, 7.5 percent over the Core i5 13600K, and 11 percent over the Core i5 12600K. We see that the Ryzen 7700X widens the gap when faster DDR5 memory is added. Therefore, we can say that the new Ryzen processors are also sensitive to memory speed.

In Red Dead Redemption 2, we see that the results are very close at 1080p. The same is true for other resolutions as well. In Far Cry 6, it is seen that Core i7 13700K and Core i5 13600K took the lead by a small margin. On the other hand, the Ryzen 7700X with faster memory (6400 MHz) is very strong in all scenarios.

Performance differences are small, price can determine the result

AMD’s new Ryzen 7000 series and Intel’s new Raptor Lake 13th Gen Core processors are positioned close to each other in terms of gaming performance. As more detailed tests come out, the correlation between the two processor generations will become clearer. Additionally, at the price point, the Intel platform has the advantage, with both DDR5 and DDR4 compatibility, as well as cheaper motherboard options.
