AMD Ryzen 5800X3D outsells all Ryzen 7000 processors

AMD continues to dominate the German market by itself. However, it seems that this dominance is due to the Ryzen 5000 series, not the current Ryzen 7000 family of the red team. In fact, the Ryzen 5800X3D alone is much more than the entire Ryzen 7000 series.

AMD continues to dominate the German market by itself. However, it seems that this dominance is due to the Ryzen 5000 series, not the current Ryzen 7000 family of the red team. In fact, the Ryzen 5800X3D alone outsells the entire Ryzen 7000 series.

In the data compiled by Ingebor on Reddit, the market statistics of Germany’s largest computer hardware vendor Mindfactory are seen in detail. According to the figures, in December 2022, AMD processors sold 20,000 units, while Intel processors sold 11,000 units. December was the highest selling month of the year for AMD after November. However, a large part of these sales are due to previous generation processors.

Ryzen 5800X3D alone surpasses Ryzen 7000 series

In the related period, Ryzen 5800X3D alone sold 3250 units. Although this number dropped 29 percent compared to the previous period, it sold more than all the rest of the Ryzen 7000 series. Meanwhile, Ryzen 7 7700 sales saw a 27 percent drop. While similar decreases were found throughout the table, Core i5 13600K, Core i5 12400F and Core i9 13900K on the Intel side, and only the Ryzen 5 7600X on the AMD side increased sales. It was also noteworthy that there was only one Intel processor in the top five of the bestseller list.
Sales in Germany were similar, not only in December but also throughout the year. All of the top 5 best selling processors in 2022 are AMD. The best seller is the Ryzen 5 5600X with 28,820 units. Meanwhile, there are only two Intel processors in the top ten of the list: Core i5 12400K and Core i7 12700K. On the other hand, we have to say that Intel’s new 13th generation processors are in a rapid rise.

In light of all this, we can say that consumers’ interest in AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series remains low. Although AMD has significantly reduced the price of these processors, the fact that the Ryzen 7000 series brings with it the requirement of AM5 and DDR5 causes it to lag behind its rival Intel in terms of cost.
