Introducing the new generation RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT graphics cards based on the RDNA 3 architecture last month, AMD will introduce new GPUs to users on December 13. Shortly before the cards were released, the top model of the series, the RX 7900 XTX, was displayed on the Geekbench platform.
What does the Radeon RX 7900 XTX offer against the RTX 4080?
Nowadays, the Geekbench platform has not yet updated it with new generation GPUs. For this reason, we see that graphics cards such as RTX 4090, RTX 4080 and even RX 6950XT are not included here. However, we can say that the scores obtained in OpenCL and Vulkan APIs provide us with the first information about the performance of the cards.
Looking at the results, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, tested on an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X processor and 32GB DDR5-3000 memory system, reaches 179579 points in tests based on the Vulkan API. These values indicate a 15 percent higher performance against the RTX 4080. But the results change when switching to OpenCL. The RX 7900 XTX is 14 percent behind its rival with 228647 points here. In addition, it should be noted that GPU clock speeds and driver information are not included in the comparison. For this reason, we may encounter changes in game performances.
We may encounter more leaks involving the performance of the RX 7900 XTX in the coming days. Because benchmarks such as 3DMark/Superposition will provide us with the first information about the official game performance of the card.
