AMD’s Zen 4-based Ryzen 7000 and Ryzen 7000X3D processors have been on the market for a while. However, the company left the AM4 platform with the new generation processors and switched to the AM5 platform, which increased the prices of the motherboards. The new information, on the other hand, shows that AMD’s promise of “$125” motherboard has come true.

AMD kept their word

Switching to AMD’s Ryzen 7000 processor family actually required a platform change and therefore a higher investment than its rival. Users who had to buy AM5 motherboards and DDR5 RAM for new generation processors stood a little away from the family due to the high price. However, even after a few months, we see that AMD’s 125 dollar motherboard promise has been kept. ASRock is releasing the B650M-HDV/M.2 motherboard for $125.
This motherboard has Gen5 support for M.2 SSDs but no PCIe Gen5 for x16 slot. The B650M-HDV/M.2 supports two DDR5 memory modules rated up to 6400 MT/s when overclocked. There are also two full-size PCIe Gen4 x16 slots on the card. This platform is also powered by 8+2+1 phase VRM which is sufficient for all Ryzen 7000 CPUs. Therefore, all Ryzen 7000 processors can be installed on this card. As a result, a system with Ryzen 7 7600, ASRock B650 and 16GB DDR5 memory can now be installed for under $500.

On the other hand, another detail that will make consumers happy is that the starting price given by AMD has been reached with B650 motherboards. As we mentioned in our previous news, AMD will also bring A620 AM5 motherboards to the entry level. These will hit the market in the coming months and will be much more affordable.
