Announcing the Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards last month, AMD shared new information about the HYPR-RX technology included in this promotion. What technology does it offer that will be included in Radeon drivers in the future? Here are the details

AMD HYPR-RX will deliver up to 85 percent performance gain

Reportedly, the HYPR-RX will be a one-click performance boosting technology that combines Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), Radeon Boost and Radeon Anti-Lag features. While these features are already available in Radeon drivers, according to AMD, the HYPR-RX will be positioned among the preset profiles, and users will be able to choose which profile suits them best for games.

AMD also shared the results of Dying Light 2, which was tested at 1080p resolution and high settings with the HYPR-RX active. However, the new solution, which managed to increase the frame rates from 90 FPS to 166 FPS in a Ryzen 9 7900X/DDR5-5200-based system, provides an 85 percent performance gain. Also, AMD states that with the HYPR-RX turned off, the latency of 30ms drops to 11ms.

Although the new technology is successful, we can say that the RSR technology in the HYPR-RX may lag behind in terms of performance and visual gain in games with FSR 2.0 support, since it is based on the FSR 1.0 algorithm.

When is AMD HYPR-RX coming out?

The new technology does not yet have a clear release date. However, AMD has confirmed that the HYPR-RX will be ready in the first half of 2023. It is also expected to be supported by all modern Radeon graphics cards, including mobile GPUs.
