The other day, we told you that the new 24 GB and 48 GB RAM support on AMD motherboards is problematic. This type of new non-binary memory required a BIOS update. Shortly after, AMD announced that it has prepared a new AGESA BIOS software to fix the 24GB and 48GB memory compatibility issues on the AM5 platform.

AMD fixes 24GB and 48GB DDR5 RAM issue for AM5

Memory manufacturers introduced new 24GB and 48GB memory modules earlier this month, allowing capacities up to 192GB. Motherboard manufacturers quickly released the necessary BIOS to support these memory modules on both the Intel 600 and Intel 700 series platforms, but it seems that AMD partners have not taken any steps for such memory modules or kits.

That’s why there have been reports of AMD’s AM5 platform having issues with 24GB and 48GB DDR5 memory modules, and we’ve brought them to you. On AM5 motherboards, the BIOS could detect memory but failed to boot into Windows. However, it seems that AMD and its partners are aware of these issues and will soon release a new AGESA BIOS to address issues faced by users who want to use higher capacity memory modules and kits.

For now, it is unknown when this fix will arrive, but it is said that the problems will be fixed in the AGESA BIOS version 1.0.0.7. According to rumors, the new BIOS will be released in April or May. In this way, content creators using the AM5 platform will have a wider range of action.
