Revolutionizing last year by placing an additional cache layer on top of the standard processor layer, AMD is raising the bar for next-generation processors. Now the total memory will exceed the 1GB threshold.
What will AMD EPYC Genoa-X offer?
Standard EPYC Genoa and Genoa-X processors with 3D memory, based on Zen 4 architecture, are getting ready to step into the server side. Processors that will scale up to 96 cores are also assertive on the memory side.
AMD Ryzen processors roadmap has been announced
According to AMD confirmed information, 5nm EPYC Genoa-X processors will come with Level 3 cache over 1GB per socket. In Milan-X processors with 3D memory, the total memory could go up to 800MB. There is an increase of about 30 percent. First generation 3D memories were especially popular in memory-oriented servers.
EPYC Genoa-X series developed for technical informatics and databases will be compatible with the new LGA 6096 based SP5 socket. Meta company has already started to place orders for EPYC Genoa-X, which will support DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 technology.
