Earlier this month, AMD announced that it fixed a major issue with the existing Radeon RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX cards with the Software Adrenalin Edition 23.7.1 driver update. However, in the notes of the new driver update published a while ago, it is accepted by the company that this problem cannot be resolved.

Problem persists on Radeon RX 7000 series

As it is known, Radeon RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX cards have a high idle power consumption problem. It is reported that these cards encounter high power consumption when the system is idle when used with a 4K FreeSync display or multi-monitor configuration, and the consumption can go up to 100W from time to time.

AMD reported that it fixed this problem with the Software Adrenalin Edition 23.7.1 driver update. However, it is stated by AMD that this issue persists in the new 23.7.2 WHQL certified driver that has been released recently. On the other hand, the new driver update fixes several issues including a hang in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II with Anti-Lag turned on, GPU memory leak issue when recording using Radeon ReLive Instant Replay, Adaptive Sync issue, and more.

You can visit AMD’s website to download the Software Adrenalin Edition 23.7.2 WHQL driver, or you can find the update via your currently installed driver software.
