AMD’s phoenix-like rise from the ashes isn’t by any miracle, of course; A success achieved as a result of the company’s moves and investments. While the company’s fierce competition against Intel in the CPU market was the result of years of hard work, AMD now continues to pay off.
According to the announced market share figures, AMD managed to achieve a 24.6 percent share in the 2021 3rd quarter results. This is AMD’s highest share of the x86 processor market ever, and its most significant achievement since 2006. Because the company had a market share of 25.3 percent in this category in 2006.
While AMD has achieved an all-time high of 22 percent in the laptop category as well as in the desktop computer area, it has started to feel its pressure on Intel with these important milestones. Because in an environment where there is such a processor crisis, it must not have been welcomed by the blue team to gain some market share from Intel.
