AMD has finally introduced the Radeon PRO W7700 GPU, which can be described as a “bridge” between the higher and lower-end PRO offerings. On the other hand, the future of this graphics card has already been known for a while. With the arrival of the new model, this completes the W7000 workstation series, at least according to AMD’s plans. The GPU seems to sit perfectly between the Navi 31-based Radeon Pro W7800 and the Navi 33-based Radeon Pro W7600 in terms of specifications and performance.
Radeon PRO W7700 arrived as a full F/P product
While the AMD Radeon PRO W7700 has a Navi 32-based GPU, we find that it is a bit trimmed down as only 48 CUs (Computing Units) are enabled. Targeting workstations, the Radeon PRO W7700 comes with 16GB GDDR6 capacity in terms of onboard memory and offers bandwidth up to 576 GB/s. Additionally, it includes ECC protected memory, which is exclusive to the high-end models in the series. According to AMD, the Radeon PRO W7700 can deliver 28.3 TFLOPS of FP32 processing power with an estimated clock speed of approximately 2.3GHz.
AMD has also made some restrictions in the power department with the Radeon PRO W7700; The GPU has 190W TBP, which is in the mid-range compared to the mainstream series. This figure looks pretty good considering AMD uses a good cooling solution with the GPU. For industry applications, the GPU supports 64MB Infinity Cache along with extensive AV1 encoding support capable of streaming up to 8K60. The Radeon Pro W7700 also features four different DisplayPort 2.1 connectors, which AMD describes as a “major generation upgrade.”
While the Radeon PRO W7700 is positioned against the Nvidia 4000 SFF Ada, which has a price tag of $ 1,250, it offers better performance in a number of workloads, but the Ada GPU has significant advantages with both its higher VRAM capacity and its modest TDP value of 70W. According to AMD, the Radeon PRO W7700 delivers up to 1.7x better price/performance over competing products, as well as double-digit higher performance in key professional applications: up to 52% in SOLIDWORKS, 24% in Creo and finally up to 37% higher performance in CATIA.

In terms of general pricing, AMD Radeon Pro W7700 is positioned between the other members of the series, W7600 and W7800, and its price is set at $ 999.
