AMD’s on-chip system concept called APU, which has been developed for laptop models and system builders for many years, takes an important step. Now we will see APU systems on the server side, and it will be massive.
What will AMD CDNA 3 offer?
Until now, AMD has been developing Zen-based EPYC processors and CDNA-based accelerators on the server side. Along with CDNA 3, the processor and graphics unit will be presented in the same package.
AMD EPYC Genoa-X very ambitious
to be developed in the 5nm process server APUs that are a bit more focused on artificial intelligence performance. With the new generation AMD Infinity Cache, unified APU memory and 3D packaging features, artificial intelligence performance per watt increases by 5 times.
It has not yet been announced which chips and core scaling will be used. AMD may begin the testing process of processors in the coming weeks. This will allow us to see the first examples in 2023.
