Amazon announced that Astro, its security robot available under the name Astro for Business, now has new functionality for small and medium-sized businesses in the United States.
Amazon first announced the Astro robot in 2022, and the robot was available by invitation only. However, the new announcement makes the robot available for purchase for $2,349.99 in a package that also includes a four-month free trial of the Ring Protection Pro and Astro Secure subscription packages.
The device has two wheels to move it around, as well as a large screen to display information and a camera mounted on top that can rotate and record the information it sees. These features can also be enhanced through the purchase of various subscriptions, such as the aforementioned Ring Protection Pro ($20 per month), Astro Secure ($60 per month), as well as Virtual Security Guard ($99 per month).

Amazon says Astro for Business brings many security improvements to businesses by “providing visibility into blind spots” and “giving business owners peace of mind” through continuous monitoring and flexibility that fixed cameras cannot provide.
