Amazon’s high-selling Kindle e-book reader series will support the epub file format after a long time. The update will occur at the end of 2022.
MOBI support will be ended with the update
Amazon’s Kindle Store will now also support epub books. With the update, which is expected to take place towards the end of 2022, Kindle users will be able to transfer epub books to Kindle devices without third-party applications such as Caliber.
Wikimedia Foundation will no longer accept crypto donations
Also with this update, Kindle devices will stop supporting Amazon’s own file format, MOBI. Amazon bought the Mobipocket company in 2005 and converted MOBI to its own file format. Users will still be able to use MOBI books on their devices, but new books will no longer support the MOBI format.
