Amazon, which has become one of the companies that has made the biggest layoffs in recent years, has still not completed its restructuring. This week, a significant number of people from the company’s gaming department were dismissed.

Amazon Gaming is on the rocks

According to information received, the Amazon Gaming department is laying off the jobs of a total of 180 people. The layoff affects the Amazon-backed Crown Twitch channel and its developer support team. It was announced that the Crown channel, which aims to provide value-added services such as programming to players, especially with original series and content, will be closed. The channel was sponsored by large companies such as Intel and Progressive.

From now on, Amazon Gaming will focus more on growth-enhancing projects, such as offering free games to players. Last April, another 100 people from the department were dismissed. Across Amazon, 27 thousand people were laid off in the last year.
