Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy S23 in January 2023, a month ahead of the usual Galaxy S flagship release timeline. Ahead of the launch, most of the specs of the entry model of the smartphone were leaked, including the chipset for the US market, right after the case leak yesterday. It seems that nothing much has changed in the new series.

Yogesh Brar, who has a good track record of leaking smartphone information, shared the Galaxy S23’s specs on Twitter. The smartphone reportedly sports a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with Full HD resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The device is expected to have thinner bezels compared to its predecessor.

The Galaxy S23, at least the US model, will come equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Various reports claim that Samsung is collaborating with Qualcomm specifically for the Galaxy S23 series, so we may not see the Exynos 2300 version of the smartphone. It will have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It will use the Android 13-based One UI 5 operating system.

Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone will feature a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera with OIS. Although the leak claims that the phone will have a 10MP selfie camera, some sources say that the Galaxy S23 will have a 12MP selfie camera.

Using a 3,900 mAh battery, the Galaxy S23 is more powerful than the Galaxy S22’s 3,700 mAh battery. It will use 25W fast charging and 15W fast wireless charging. The Galaxy S23 is also expected to feature reverse wireless charging. Other features include Samsung DeX, Samsung Pay, stereo speakers, IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and a USB Type-C port.

If this information is correct, the Galaxy S23 will be an iterative upgrade, not a full-fledged refresh as some might expect.
