Allegedly, LCD Screen Will Be Used Again on 2022 iPad Airs

Many previous reports were talking about Apple releasing an iPad Air with an OLED display next year. However, according to a new claim, these reports may not be accurate.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, whose claims have been true many times before, claimed that Apple will not be surprised by LCD technology in the iPads it will release in 2022. Allegedly, the reason behind the company’s decision is that OLED displays do not fit Apple’s performance-cost balance.

Although reports since March have argued that Apple will use an OLED display in the next iPad Air, that plan has been canceled, according to Kuo. Because the screens with this technology did not provide the cost and performance balance that Apple wanted. According to the plan, Mini-LED technology, which provides more protection against burning, would also be used in Pro devices. According to the new decision, TFT-LCD technology will be used in the Air model.

To continue from LCD

Apple first used Mini-LED technology in the 12.9-inch iPad Pros released earlier this year. These types of displays are expected to come to the next 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros. The 11-inch iPad Pros, which will be released in 2022, will also have a Mini-LED display, as stated in previous claims.

According to Kuo, Apple is currently continuing its studies and research on screens that can be used especially on tablet devices. One of the most remarkable works in the company’s 5-year plans is foldable devices. The analyst claims that it is 3 more years for such a device to be released.
