The lawsuit filed by Gizem Gül, who was dismissed without paying severance pay for 4 years while working at an A101 branch in Istanbul, was heard at the Çağlayan Courthouse yesterday. Store Market-Sen made a press statement in front of the courthouse to support Gizem Gül.

Allegedly; The employee, who worked at least 10 hours a day during the pandemic, could only take 1 day off for 3 months. He was later forced to resign. Here are the details on the subject:

Doğan Aras, a member of the union organizing coordination, who read the statement, explained the process as follows:

“A101 employee Gizem Gül worked for at least 10 hours every day for 3 months during the pandemic process. She was able to take only 1 day off for 3 months. Gul, who was in charge of the store, worked at least 15 hours in inventory counts while working.

It was also sent to inventory counts of other stores. Gul, who was not paid overtime despite working overtime, was forced to pay for the safe deposit box out of his own pocket. Gul was forced to resign by the A101 regional manager. It was said that if he did not resign, he would be fired before he could get his rights. The employee’s resignation was received undated.

After this incident, Gül, who was injured by falling off the ramp at work, received a report for 10 days. On the day Gul’s report ended, A101 processed the undated resignation. He terminated the employment contract by usurping the employee’s severance pay. “Aras said:

“We will never leave the market employees alone. No employee will walk alone.”
